Rising stars of Uk Wrestling in 2017

Rising stars of Uk Wrestling in 2017

Image result for tyler bate wwe

Following the hugely successful WWE UK championship tournament in which Tyler Bate was crowned the first ever WWE UK Champion I thought I would have a look at the next UK stars that are on the rise in 2017.

These are wrestlers that I have watched live over the years going to British Wrestling shows all over the country but mainly based in the South West.

This is just based on my opinion as a wrestling fan and what I like/enjoy/have seen as a wrestling fan.

You may agree with me, you may not.

There are several talents that could be added to this list from all over the country, we are very blessed in UK Wrestling right now to have so much talent to choose from.

British Wrestling is really on the rise and I encourage anyone to go out on see their local promotion get to know the characters and to enjoy the action.

There are so many men and women out there that work so hard on every show they are on to make it the best show possible for you the fans.

UK talent on the rise on 2017

Tiger Ali

Image may contain: 3 people, people on stage, people standing and indoor

Tiger Ali is the current 4FW Champion. I have seen and watched Tiger over many promotions over many years here in the Uk. Tiger was originally signed for WWE UK tournament however Tiger was replaced in the tournament by other talents, something I managed to get confirmed via a tweet from William Regal.

It was such a shame that Tiger Ali wasn't given the opportunity to show his skills at WWE UK Championship Tournament.

Tiger Ali has all the skills to make an impression in WWE UK.

Tiger Ali in January 2017 in 4FW Ali had an amazing main event match vs NJPW star Kenny Omega

You can see the full match below

I think you will see Tiger Ali on WWE TV in 2017

Chris Andrews

Image result for chris andrews wrestler

Chris Andrews has been a mainstay of the South West Wrestling scene plus Chris has been all over Europe Wrestling.

Check out Chris Andrews vs Matt Cross from Swiss Wrestling

Chris has an amazing look and is in amazing shape and is a true physical specimen. Chris has incredible strength and power and he shows it in every one of his matches.

Chris strength is often on show in his matches where he hits his opponents with huge delayed vertical suplexes and his finisher the TKO.

Image result for chris andrews wrestler

On the UK scene there aren't many men the size, statue, build and experience of Chris Andrews, Chris in my opinion is someone that I can see in WWE UK, WCPW and more.

Chris is primed in 2017 to become a huge star in UK wrestling and beyond.

Big Grizzly Steve Griffiths

Image may contain: 1 person, standing

Big Grizzly is a wrestler that I first came across in Devon at company called PWP.

Grizzly originates from Wales and was trained at Dragon Pro Wrestling and works for Pro Wrestling Choas,CSF Wrestling, Welsh Wrestling, Pro Evo Wrestling, Big League Wrestling and many more across the country.

See Big Grizzly vs Rhyno here

I have seen Grizzly (as world champion)  have top class series of matches with current WWE star Rhyno, former WWE star Billy Gunn, Mr Anderson, Current NXT star Johnny Gargano and a tremendous one on one contest with Current ROH star Donovan Dijak + countless others, I have said it before and say it again you always get your money worth when you watch one of his matches.

He is a true star and someone that will be on the radar of the big wrestling companies in 2017.

Scotty Wainwright

Image result for Scotty wainwright wrestling

Scotty is 1/3rd of the popular Swords of Essex along will Paul Robinson and Will Osprey.

Scott is already in WCPW (What Culture Pro Wrestling)

See Scott in WCPW here

Scotty is again another talent that I saw for the first time in the south west. I remember that he debuted in Truro and immediately I liked his character at the time, it was Scotty Essex and he had a unique look, he look different and had a great high flying style it made him stand out and made him different, that was cool to me as you didn't see many people taking chances at the time and he was willing to go out on a limb and be different.

Scotty has tremendous matches I have witnessed him tag with Bully Ray in WCPW and in the south west  have matches one on one with Rob Van Dam and other matches with  PJ black, Mark Andrews Johnny Kidd, Carlito, Robbie E.

Scotty has grown so much since I first saw him he now has evolved and changed his character to Scotty Wainwright and is already doing tremendously well in WCPW your going to see him hit some new heights in 2017.

Nadia Sapphire

Image result for nadia sapphire

Nadia has a character that I really dig. Nadia is that bitchy, I am beautiful and I'm better than anyone else girl that gets under your skin and is a character you love to hate. Nadia has a mirror with her all the time and has a referee open the ropes for her before she gets in the ring and once she is in it gets the ref told hold aforementioned mirror!

You can see Nadia here with Saul Adams vs Ryback
(video Courtesy of 4FW)

Nadia as a wrestler or a valet has her way of getting the crowd mad at her or whoever she is managing. Nadia has a great figure and she has great outrageous outfits to match her outrageous personality! A lady to look out for in 2017!!

Adam Da Sliva

Image result for adam da silva wrestler

Adam trained in MMA and trained in professional wrestling at Lance Storm Wrestling academy in Canada. Adam has wrestled in the south west at UPW and also for All Star Promotions agmonst others.

Adam Da Silva with Trainer Lance Storm

Adam with Ultimo Dragon

Adam was a mixture of MMA strong style along with fundamentals of Pro Wrestling and this is an effective an unique combination.

Adam is someone i think has great potential and dome to keep your eyes on if your going to a show in the UK in 2017.

Sierra Loxton

Image may contain: 1 person, standing

Sierra describes herself as "A weird and wonderful upcoming British wrestler"

Sierra has a very unique look and I remember when I first saw her I remember liking the unique entrance and attire.

Sierra has wrestled at  Dragon PRO wrestling. PRIDE promotions. ROYAL imperial. UPW, VII Pro Wrestling, Attack Pro Wrestling, Ironfist, Revolution Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Chaos.

Sierra also has changed her look and used facepaint for some matches which I feel really adds to her character as "the Freaky Princess of Pro Wrestling"

Sierra has faced Kay Lee Ray, Nixon Newell and very soon Sierra will be teaming with Former WWE star Melina at Pro Wrestling Chaos.

See Sierra Loxton in Action in video below

Sierra is just at the beginning of her pro wrestling career but has a very bright future ahead of her.

4FW New Years Wrestleution 2017 Review w/ Kenny Omega

4FW - New Years Wrestleution 2017 Review w/ Kenny Omega vs Tiger Ali

Image may contain: 1 person, text

Welcome everyone to my first blog since coming back from Japan.

I have been back 2 weeks and just getting back into the
swing of life back home in England and getting over the jet lag that accompanied it!

I wasn't planning on going to much wrestling over the next few weeks then everything changed very quickly.

4FW Unfortunately had to announce that former WWE star Cody Rhodes would not be available for shows this past weekend due to Cody attending a memorial for a little boy Elijah Mainville (Drax the Shadow) who Cody met in WWE and very sadly passed Elijah passed away on Jan 8th Aged just 9 years old.

Cody is now rescheduled to return in June 2017 for 4FW

So 4FW management reached out for a replacement talent for Saturday 21st Jan 2017 show in MECA in Swindon and none other than New Japan Pro Wrestling star and the man that had an incredible Main Event Match at Wrestlekingdom 11 Kenny Omega answered the call!!

Kenny Omega

4FW management deserve huge credit for being able to pull this off and turning what could of been a very difficult situation into an even bigger show.

I got to the venue a little early and was outside with the other fans waiting to go into the show. I met some great fans outside (Sorry Cant remember everyone names) and we had some great conversation about wrestling, WWE and more, a great way to start off what would be a brilliant evening.

This was my first time at MECA in Swindon and I really like the venue.

The set up for the venue was great the entrance way looked amazing with all the light, smoke and Video Screen, also there were cameras placed around the building and even a camera that someone was operating on an extended arm (cant wait to see the event on Demand at (https://4fwondemand.pivotshare.com/ )

Image may contain: one or more people and indoor
Before the start of the show at Swindon Meca

I'm sat in my seat and the show is ready to begin!

Here are the results of the show and some notes on the matches below

Adam "Flex" Maxted defeated Saul Adams (w/Nadia Sapphire)

Image may contain: 5 people, people on stage and night
Saul adams takes the microphone before his match with Adam Maxted

I enjoyed Saul Adams and enjoyed his character I think Nadia compliments him well and they both work well together to create a team you want to dislike.

Adam Maxted is getting better and better every time I see him and he is going to be one to look out for in the future.

Saul looked to be in control of this match even getting the ring bell at one point until Nadia got into the ring and Adam Maxted was able to roll up Adams for the win.

Saul did not look happy after the match and could not believe he lost.

Handicap Match
JD Knight defeated RJ Singh and Rishi Gosh (JD now has now obtained a 4FW title match vs Tiger Ali)

Image may contain: 3 people
JD Knight (centre) taking it to Rishi (left) and RJ (right)

Rishi Gosh and RJ singh came out next and challenged "Swindon Savior" JD Knight to a match if he won he would get a 4FW World Title shot at Tiger Ali however JD would have to defeat both Rishi and RJ in a handicap match.

I loved Rishi and RJ in the mic here they really tore into the fans and kept going and it really helped with the feel of the match. They had no fear and I thought they were great,

Image may contain: 1 person, on stage and indoor
Rishi and RJ cheating to win

4FW fans did not let up on them at all and were cheering JD all the way to win this match and luckily that what JD did after a lot of beating down from RJ and Rishi, JD was able to come back and hit JD DDT on Rishi for the Win.

Dick Justice Defeated Crusher Lomax

Image may contain: one or more people, people on stage, concert, night and indoor
Lomax (left) Dick Justice (right)

Next up was Crusher Lomax vs Dick Justice this was my first time seeing Dick Justice I hadn't seen him before and Lomax I have seen many times over the past few years. Lomax is an incredibly talented big man who is very athletic and moves very fast for a man of his size.

This was a totally different style of match and it was great! Dick Justice and Lomax did some great stuff here, whether it was running the ropes and criss-crossing each other until they both got tied, lent on each other and then feel to the canvas, or Dick Justice point his "finger gun" at Lomax only for Lomax to take it and then the referee to take it, it was pure fun and entertainment.

Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling, people on stage, concert and indoor
Dick Justice posing

I loved it and the crowd loved it too, its what's great about pro wrestling they put smiles on peoples faces.

Dick Justice was able to obtained the victory with a big clothesline out of the corner.

Bubblegum Defeated Mega Pegasus to become new 4FW Junior Heavyweight Champion

Image may contain: 3 people, night
Bubblegum (left) Mega Pegasus (right)

Following on from that our championship match for the vacant 4FW Junior Heavyweight Championship.

Bubblegum came out n Man City, shirt flags and Bubble Hat and was followed by Mega Pegasus who did a very cool entrance with huge wings before he came to the ring.

Image may contain: 1 person, on stage and night
Bubblegum

Image may contain: one or more people and indoor
Mega Pegasus

In this match I really enjoyed the aggression show by Bubblegum and he is all round attitude. Mega Pegasus was very athletic  and he pushed Bubblegum as far as he could go nearly getting Bubblegum to submit at one point and coming very close with near fall too but it was Bubblegum who came out victorious and is new 4FW junior Heavyweight champion

The Saint W/Lord Gideon Gray defeated Samie Sahin

Image may contain: one or more people, concert and indoor
Saime hitting Springboard Moonsault

Lord Gideon Gray is out first Lord Gideon Says that Sir Doug Williams is not here tonight and the reason he isn't is that he is too good to appear in Swindon in front of these fans. Lord Gideon went on to say that he would like to call out Saime Sahin, Saime comes to the ring and Gideon states that he has a replacement for Doug Williams and Samie should take a long hard look at the video screen.

Image may contain: one or more people, people on stage and indoor

While Saime is looking at the screen The Saint comes out from the crowd and attacks Saime and our next match is on.

This is the first time I have seen The Saint as a bad guy and thinks that it really suits him, Saint is very methodical and is systematically trying to take Saime apart.

Image may contain: one or more people and indoor

As the match looks like it is turning Lord Gideon gets on the apron and hits Saime with what looks like is a cane and then Saint locks in a crossface submission and Saime has no choice but to submit.

Kenny Omega Defeated Tiger Ali in a non title match

Image may contain: one or more people, people on stage, night and indoor
Ali and Omega face off

You can see the full match below Courtesy of 4FW

Tiger Ali is out first with RJ singh and Rishi Gosh again. These 3 are a tremendous bad guy group, the crowd are hating all 3 of them.

Tiger Ali is a tremendous talent and he is 4FW World Champion right now and standard bearer for the company.

Image may contain: 3 people, people on stage, people standing and indoor
Tiger Ali with 4FW World Title
WWE should of used Tiger Ali in WWE UK Championship tournament there is no question in my mind about that, I hope WWE see sense because after his match with Kenny Omega tonight it makes me believe even more that Ali should have the WWE spotlight on him.

Even before the match began the fans in attendance were Serenading Kenny Omega with the chant "Best in the World, Best in the Worlddddd, Kenny Omega The best in the world" it went on for a long time and got a smile from Kenny.

Omega and Ali had a tremendous match and it built nicely with both men feeling each other out to begin with and the match ebbed and followed with RJ Singh and Rishi Gosh of course getting involved on multiple occasions.

In a great moment Tiger Ali brought his flag into the ring and referee took it away Kenny then got hold of it and said to Tiger "you think your better than everyone? Ali said yes and Omega said "no we are all created equal" that was clever and smart and really stood out to me.

Image may contain: 2 people, people on stage and night

Kenny went to dive onto Ali on the outside of the ring but was stopped by 3 kings Kenny was thrown into a rail on the outside and then Tiger Ali decided he would fly and he dived onto Omega from the outside of the ring.

Tiger came close on many occasions to pinning Omega and procured a very near pinfall, but Omega kicked out at 2 (some fans around me though it was 3)

Image may contain: 2 people, people on stage

Fans at this point in the match were chanting "This is Awesome"

Kenny hit Ali with some tremendous knee strikes and the sound echoed through the MECA centre in Swindon.

The referee then got hit down in the match and again Rishi Gosh and Rj Singh enter trying to help Ali.

Tiger Ali was able to take advantage but there was no referee to make the 3 count for him.

Image may contain: 1 person, on stage

Tiger Ali at this point is getting frustrated and he goes to get his flag (for the 2nd time in the match)  and he hits Omega in the face with the base of the pole however Omega is able to lift up Ali and hit the One Winged Angel for the pinfall victory!

What a tremendous match I applaud everyone involved.

Image may contain: 3 people, people on stage and indoor

Following the end of the show I went to 4FW meet and greet, I was able to meet Kenny and got him to sign my Wrestlekingdom 11 program that I recently obtained in Toyko.

Image may contain: 2 people, people standing and shoes

Image may contain: 3 people

Kenny was top class as always a really nice person and we had a nice conversation about Wrestlekingdom 11 and about Toyko.

Unfortunately I was unable to stay for the Q and A part of this as I had to get my lift home.

You can see the full Kenny Omega Q&A Below

Overall I thought this was a brilliant show really top class and considering all the circumstances and difficulties that 4FW have faced over the past week this show was a tremendous success.

4FW had a bit of everything here, and credit must go to 4FW talent, management and everyone who works with them.

The Next 4FW show coming to Swindon MECA is on May 6th 2017 and I'll be there I hope you are too :)

My Trip/Guide to Japan to See NJPW Wrestlekingdom 11

My Trip/Guide to Japan to See NJPW Wrestlekingdom 11

Hello everyone and Welcome to my blog about going to Japan to see NJPW Wrestlekingdom 11.

You can check out a video documentary about my trip by clicking the video below its 30 mins long and details my trip as well as Wrestlekingdom 11

I have already flown 12 hours from Heathrow and been in Japan for 3 days already it's an incredible place, such a change of culture (a real shock) and such a beautiful place to be. My brother Michael, luckily has been before and has been very knowledgeable at showing me the sites, amazing shrines and places in this beautiful city.

It's such a happening city, felt very daunting at first but the people are so very kind and go out of there way to help you and to make you feel welcome.

To any fans thinking of coming over I say definitely do it, but give yourself time to prepare! I only had 3 weeks to prepare for this trip so wasn't enough. My phone hasn't been working over here and I couldn't get any money out on my card ! This is my first time ever in Toyko and I don't know the language and to be honest a little apprehensive too but I'm super excited as myself and my brother Michael are on the metro heading towards Toyko dome.

We have been talking about this for such a long time and now becoming a reality seeing Japan Pro Wrestling Wrestlekingdom 11. We get in the metro in Shibuya (where we are staying) and We had to change at Nagatcho station and then went to Kouraken station. (Where Tokyo dome is) it only cost 200yen (£1.50 appox) for the 20 min journey.

We get off the train and walk to exit 1 and we are right outside Tokyo Dome. It's an incredible sight and a tremendous looking stadium.

Image result for tokyo dome

As you walk to the stadium to your left of it is a roller-coaster that wraps around a building!

The doors open for the show at 15:30 and show starts at 17:00. Everything in Japan starts very promptly and exactly to time so was told to get to our seats with plenty of time and are ready for the show.

We walk round and find the right entrance Eventually we needed up queueing at the wrong gate to begin with then a nice member of staff directed us to where we should be.

We have electronic tickets with a QR code that you scan in it goes nice and smoothly and we scan our tickets we are in the stadium and find our seats no problem thanks to helpful and kind staff.

As you go in you a given a NJPW goodie bag with posters, and souvenirs which i thought was a nice touch.

As you would of noticed the show is 6 hours long and there aren't any breaks for intermission, so either choose a match that you don't mind missing or if your like me practice the art of bladder control!

There are members of staff walking up and down the aisles with pepsi and coke and other members of staff with a beer pack on there pack who can serve you at your seat  so you don't need to get up at all

We were treated to a 6 hour spectacular of Wrestling

Here is an intro video to WK 11

Here are the results

Michael Elgin won the New Japan Rumble

Tetsuya Naito defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to retain the IWGP Intercontinental Championship

Kazuchika Okada defeated Kenny Omega to retain the IWGP Heavyweight Championship

Overall I really enjoyed the card and think It has to be the best live wrestling event I ever attended.

I have to discuss  The Dream Team (Kenny Omega, Nick Jackson, Matt Jackson, Adam Cole) at Wrestlekingdom 11.

Its because of Kenny Omega that I went to Wrestlekingdom 11. I met Kenny in Taunton back on January 2015 and been a fan for a long time of his and the rest of the dream team.

To finally see Nick and Matt Jackson Live for the first time was a real treat. They were brilliant in their match and was sad to see them lose but they encapsulated incredible althletism, humour and great wrestling all in to one and that truly skillful thing to achieve to me the top tag team in the world today.

I don't get ROH TV in the UK and its hard to keep up with so getting to see Adam Cole for the first time was a very cool thing.

I love Adam Cole "Bay Bay" chant and his theme music and persona and so did alot of the fans around me who did it along with Adam in his match.

To see Adam not only win his match and Become new ROH World Champion but to do it for a record 3rd time and to witness that live was something very special to me.

Kenny Omega and Okada delivered a tremendous main event.

It was a 45 min classic and a great example of why I love professional wrestling both men deserve huge credit for what they managed to create.

Okada and Omega gave us great psychology, hard hitting strong wrestling, Technical Wrestling, emotion and pure insanity - best match I have ever seen.

I have never seen anything like this 2 things that really stick out Dragon Suplex from Top Rope and Kenny Omega taking a back drop from the ring over the top rope through a table set up on the floor.

There were fans around me in tears in their eyes when Omega got pinned it meant so much to the fans.

In Wrestling those matches come along once in a lifetime and i was lucky enough to be in the right place and right time.

Kenny Omega Thank you for making my trip so special and truly unforgettable

Even Now in January it has got to be a front runner for Match of Year.

Now time for my rant at NJPW management.....

I felt that Kenny Omega should of been crowned New IWGP World Champion if NJPW want to make inroads into America and Europe as much as they say they do then making Omega champion here would of been a real statement of intent to fans worldwide that NJPW want to continue to push their brand forward.

It felt as if New Japan got scared and kept the belt on Okada, there were lots of fans in the arena that when Omega got pinned were very upset and unhappy.

I was sat with People from Australia, American, Canada and Japan all of which wanted to see a Kenny Omega win.

New Japan need to start putting faith in Kenny Omega because if they don't they could find themselves without him in the future.

Omega has attracted alot of fans like myself to watch NJPW and NJPW World its becoming a big revenue stream for NJPW, they need to realise his value and what he brings to the table, i just hope its not a situation where NJPW don't realise what they have until its gone.

Despite my annoyance at NJPW booking of the main event. In the end though I left feeling very happy and it felt like all the effort,  time and travel was worth it.

Tips for travel

I'll give you some tips from my experience in Japan and where I went wrong, hopefully this will be useful to you if you decide to go to Japan in the future.

This holiday to Japan was booked with my brother with only a month to spare so there wasn't any preparation time. Before you go here are some things to remember. Make sure that Data roaming for Japan is enabled on your phone, I forgot to do this and as a consequence I couldn't contact anyone all week, I had no wifi and with limited knowledge of the language it was very disabling. .

In addition make sure you notify your bank that you are going abroad otherwise if you need any extra money you will not be able to draw any money out and don't forget to get some Yen before you go.

I brought our tickets through NJPW official E ticket partner https://ticket.tickebo.jp/pc/en/ they send you ticket as a QR code to your phone a week before the event you then save this as a picture to your phone and scan it through the card reader as you go through the gate at the stadium.
