Pro Wrestling Report Radio: Thank you and Goodbye

Pro Wrestling Report Radio: Thank you and Goodbye

On Wednesday 23rd January 2013 Pro Wrestling Report Host Dameon Nelson Announced on Pro Wrestling Report Primetime Wednesday that Pro Wrestling Report Radio would now end and be replaced by a New show PWR live a interactive show after WWE raw and WWE Pay Per View's. The First show will be right after the WWE Royal Rumble this Sunday at

Hosted by Dameon Nelson, WCWMeathead and Matthew Thomas Check out PWR Live it will be Tremendous!

I agree with the evolution and I think this new method for the Pro Wrestling Report Will be fantastic. I will miss the radio shows immensely though. Every Monday (after a PPV) or Tuesday (after a WWE) or Friday (After an Impact Wrestling) I would sit in my car on the way to work and listen to PWR Radio an use the hashtag on twitter  #TuesdayTradition for Monday Night Meltdown and #FridayTradition for Sudden Impact Radio. I would listen to these the day after they aired as i would not be able to stay up late to listen due to the time difference between USA and England and have to work every morning!!
Pro Wrestling Report Logo 2010
Without the PWR Radio show I would of never of found PWR to begin with.
In 2009 i decided to buy a new and first Ipod. Previous to this I had tried one other Wrestling Radio Show (on the internet) from a "well known" (I wont mention who they are) wrestling site and found it very boring and the hosts of that show were just awful and didn't care about the fans
Having had My Ipod for a few months i decided that it would be great to find a new wrestling radio show to listen to. There are no wrestling shows that air on Radio in the UK the last Wrestling show that was on Radio in England was on Talksport UK Many Years ago.
I searched on Itunes and typed in Wrestling Radio and saw on the search list Pro Wrestling Report on ESPN 540. I clicked on the Link and read the description and downloaded the latest show from there I was hooked.
Pro Wrestling report on ESPN 540 was Hosted by Dameon Nelson along with Opinionists David Herro, WCWMeathead and Frank Cossentino from the moment i listened to the show it was so different to what i heard before. The PWR Team talked about Wrestling what had happened what they thought about it and in a unique twist (from what I was used too) they then ask the fans what they thought about it, PWR took calls from the fans and read emails from the fans with their opinions and discussed them.

The PWR Team did not put down a fans opinion instead they debated the question or comment that was put in front of them. It was then that I learned  Pro Wrestling Report's Phrase "From Fans, For Fans" Without PWR Radio I would never of found the brilliance that is Pro Wrestling Report. Pro Wrestling Report really ignited the Wrestling bug in me and also was the sole reason I joined Twitter so that I could follow @pwrshow and all the Hosts of the Show. (My 1st Tweet ever was from David Herro!!!!)

PWR Monday Night Meltdown Logo
Pro Wrestling Report had some brilliant episodes and as i mentioned above the chemistry between the PWR made PWR so entertaining and brilliant to listen too. From David Herro Proclaiming DHHS (David Herro Has Spoken) to Meathead being locked to be in "the Fortress of Solitude" to Frank Cossentino saying the word "thuganometry" PWR radio was as much about entertainment and #Shenanigans as it was about the Wrestling!
Pro Wrestling Report also had on Some Brilliant Guests from the World of Wrestling and some great Interviews from Ken Anderson after his WWE Release, Kevin Nash Talking on PWR the night after returning at WWE Royal Rumble, A Brilliant interview with Rowdy Roddy Piper and also an extremely well done and brilliantly presented Tribute to the late Macho Man Randy Savage and also a great tribute to Luna Vachon.

Pro Wrestling Report Radio has been a huge part of my week over the last 3 years I'm sad to see it go thank you for the fun, #shenanigans, entertainment and Wrestling Talk :)

WWE Royal Rumble 2013 Ziggler is Lucky Number 1...or 2

WWE Royal Rumble 2013

Ziggler is Lucky Number 1 (or 2)
Dolph Ziggler

This Sunday 27th January 2013 WWE Royal Rumble will air. Generally One of the best WWE PPV's of the year. This year 30 Man Royal Rumble match has alot of intrigue built into it most people are of the opinion that John Cena will be winning this years event and then go on to face The Rock at Wrestlemania. However after seeing this past Monday's WWE raw WWE might have something else in mind.,.,,

Royal Rumble 2013
A Beat the clock challenge took place on WWE Raw and the winner of this we were originally told could pick their number for the Royal Rumble Match. Dolph Ziggler Ends up winning the Beat The Clock challenge then when he is bragging about this Vicki Guerreo informs Ziggler that it is not a free choice of Royal Rumble Entry number instead it is a number chosen within a certain range Number one to Number two.
Here's what WWE could do This I feel is the ideal opportunity for Ziggler to do what Shawn Michaels did in 1995 and go from Number 1 right the way through to win the Royal Rumble match.  WWE have done this throughout the years had Wrestlers start off at number 1 and have a good showing in the Royal Rumble the most recent springing to Mind Being The Miz but eventually they fall short and end up eliminated.
Now others since Shawn Michaels in 1995 have won the Royal Rumble from Number 1 since 1999 Vince Mcmahon and Rey Mysterio have one from Numbers 1 or 2. So although has been done before  this feat has not been achieved since 2006 (Since Rey Won) So I feel it is  well overdue for another superstar to win this way.
Winning like this would help Ziggler immensely. Ziggler has the Money in The Bank Contract in his possession and that's great for him. Ziggler puts so much work into his matches and i always find them entertaining and captivating. The Only problem is that Ziggler has fallen short when it has come to the main event title match Ziggler has lost to Both CM Punk and Edge in Previous WWE and World Heavyweight Title matches. Ziggler did become World Heavyweight Champion for a few seconds in February 2011.
Ziggler Joined with AJ lee and Big E Langston
Ziggler has also had some great matches with John Cena recently and Ziggler has aligned himself with AJ lee and Big E Langston. Ziggler Also Beat John Cena on PPV in a ladder match (Although AJ interfered to help him win) and since then Ziggler has lost to Cena Twice on Raw both by Pinfall in a singles match and a Cage Match.
A win for Ziggler here would be huge it would really show all the fans that Ziggler can win the big match and also add so much intrigue to the WWE and World Title Situations The Miz said on WWE Main Event Ziggler could win the Royal Rumble and have a Wrestlemania match for the WWE Title and a Match from his Money in the bank Briefcase for the World Heavyweight Title - win both Titles and become Double Champion.
It would be great if this happened think this could do for Ziggler what it did for Chris Jericho when Jericho became the 1st Undisputed WWE champion. Although as I said above the "Smart Money" is on "established guys" this could be an oppertunity to turn Dolph Ziggler from Superstar to Wrestling megastar. We shall see Sunday!!

BSKYB and WWE TV in The UK - Change is needed!

BSKYB and WWE TV in The UK - What needs to Change in 2014

WWE and BskyB (otherwise Known as Sky TV) Have had a UK TV deal Since 1989 and WWE signed a new deal with BskyB in 2009 which runs until 2014.  We are now in 2013 so this deal has a year or so left to run. Written below the WWE TV statement is what I would like to see Sky and WWE do when they Sign (or If they sign) a new TV and PPV Deal.
The statement below was released by WWE in 2009 regarding them re-signing with BSkyB for UK Coverage (the full statement can be seen at
Five More Years for WWE and BSkyB
November 30, 2009

"November 30 2009, London – World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:WWE) has extended its relationship with British Sky Broadcasting (LSE:BSY.L) in the UK for another five years, taking the partnership into its milestone twenty-fifth year.
The new distribution agreement, which takes effect in January 2010, sees BSkyB hold the exclusive UK broadcast rights of WWE's weekly programming and special events, providing content to more than 15 million homes across the UK and Ireland.
BSkyB will carry ten-and-a-half first run hours of WWE's weekly programs. RAW®, SmackDown®, ECW®, Bottom Line®, AfterBurn®, WWE Vintage Collection™ and This Week in WWE will all air in high definition on Sky Sports, along with five monthly specials annually.
BSkyB will carry eight WWE special events annually on Sky Box Office, including perennial favourites WrestleMania®, Royal Rumble®, SummerSlam® and Survivor Series®. WWE events on Sky Box Office will air live and in HD"
In order to receive Sky TV in the UK you need a TV,Sky set top box and a satellite dish or Sky can be viewed on Sky Player and Internet platform which allows you to watch Sky on your Laptop or Xbox 360 Games Console and also via an App allows you to watch on Ipod, Ipad or other mobile device (but with a limited Service not all programs and Channels can be viewed as on SkyTV and No PPV channels can be viewed either)
When this deal was inked by WWE and BskyB in 2009 there was no provision made for Sky Box Office (Sky's PPV channel) to be made available on Laptops, Mobile Devices, Ipad's etc. With Sky Box office you pay a fee to be able to view the PPV or Program. WWE PPV's in the UK are usually around £15
This is where I think Sky and WWE are missing a beat since 2009 using devices other than your television in your living room have become so popular. If Sky Were to create a Sky Box Office App for the Ipad for Example then you could pay to watch WWE PPV's No matter where you were. In these difficult financial times wouldn't this be great business sense for WWE and Sky? More PPV buys in the UK and more eyes on the WWE Product.
Also there are alot of people out there who try streaming Programs on the Internet. What better way to help defend against this than WWE and SKY having their own online presence and affording people the opportunity to watch online legally and try and tackle if issue of streaming so that these ilegal streams that put up become redundant. does show PPV's for a fee but this service is only available for US Citizens and is unavailable for UK fans.
In The UK WWE actually has less viewers than Competitors Impact Wrestling. This is due to the fact the Impact Wrestling airs on Challenge TV (a Free channel which everyone can receive) also Impact show all their PPV's for free in the UK the Wednesday after they have taken place therefore more people have been watching Impact due to it being more accessible to the viewer and not having to pay for PPV's is certainly a plus. Also Impact Airs at 9pm on a Sunday Night Primetime Viewing at the end of the weekend.
Sky need to help WWE to become more visible in the UK. In the Late 90's when WWE was really at its peak WWE Raw and alot of WWE programming was shown on Sky Sports 1 (It shows all the Big Premier League games and Big Sporting Events and is the premier sports channel on Sky) and was more visible to the casual viewer as well as the wrestling fan. Over the past few years WWE TV (Raw and Smackdown) has been shown on Sky Sports 4 and Raw and Smackdown air live but not until 2am in the morning. Replays of the programs are shown throughout the week but nothing is like seeing wrestling live.  However the time difference is something that cannot be changed and that is something that WWE has been doing on Sky for many years.
However In the Next TV Deal why don't WWE have Raw or Smackdown air on Sky TV as usual and structure the TV deal so that the replays (non live repeats) of Raw and Smackdown are sold to a free to air channel? The free to air channel could then air the replay, The free to air TV channel would get  ratings and WWE would get TV exposure to all of the UK (Taking on Impact as mentioned above) - Personally I think this would be a great solution for WWE and along with the Sky Box Office app suggested above also Television exposure in WWE could be extended, More money can be made by both Companies and fans get new, varied and Modern ways to see the WWE Product.Everybody Wins!!

Kevin Nash - My memories of WWF Years 1993-1996

Kevin Nash - My memories of WWF Years

Had the Great News Recently That Kevin Nash Will be Going the Pro Wrestling Report's Party in New York over Wrestlemania Weekend, I will be going to this event entitled "Shenanigans in the Concrete Jungle" I have been a massive fan of Kevin Nash for such a long time and it will be truly incredible to meet him. That Little Wrestling fan who first saw Diesel in 1993 at 7 years old never thought he'd get an opportunity to meet the man himself. So Decided I would write a blog with my Memories of Kevin Nash from his first WWE run. (I have also added videos I found on Youtube throughout the blog)

I have been a Kevin Nash fan ever since I saw him debut on WWE (then WWF) TV With Shawn Michaels back in 1993. I had never seen any previous WCW Versions of Character's Nash had played (We couldn't get WCW in England at the time). I remember seeing this giant on TV with Shawn Michaels and thinking  as a 7 year old kid wow! Kevin Nash (then named Diesel) was huge 7 foot 2 and looked liked he could really do some damage. I was intrigued by the Bodyguard Character as Diesel was different to other managers at the time. Diesel was more calculating and Cunning and wouldn't get involved in a match 3 or 4 times what made him different was that he would only get involved maybe once or twice but it was usually lead to the match ending. A far as I can remember also Diesel did not say much at the beginning either which for me added to the character too because his actions and what he did in the ring did all the talking.

Diesel  made his WWF debut on June 6, 1993 Helping Shawn Michaels as Shawn's new bodyguard vs Marty Jannetty for the Intercontinental championship.

Kevin Nash said in an interview that he could not believe the size of the House that WWE would draw. Kevin Also said that on his first night in WWE he did more in one night than he had done in his whole WCW career up to that point.

In January 1994 Diesel was in the Royal Rumble and managed to throw seven men over the top rope in the Royal Rumble match. This is the first time  I can remember seeing Diesel Compete in the ring (although he may of competed before then!!!) and this really helped his character because it now showed the physical side of his game and what he could do to opponents inside the ring. See Diesel in the Royal Rumble 1994 by clicking the link below.

Diesel then got an opportunity for the WWE Intercontinental Championship and he beat Raxor Ramon (Scott Hall)  in April 1994. Diesel won his first title in WWE Click the video below to see the Title Win!!

Diesel and Shawn Michaels in August 1994 won the WWE Tag Team Championship from the Headshinkers making Nash a double champion. Below is Diesel and Shawn Michaels 1st Title Defence as Tag Team Champions as they faced the team of Chris Kanyon and Bob Starr.

Shawn Michaels and Diesel as a team fell apart after Shawn Michaels  superkicked Diesel. Diesel went after Shawn Michaels and chased him up the ramp starting a feud between Diesel and Shawn Michaels

Then on 26th November 1994 Diesel Defeated Bob Backlund to win his first WWE title. Kevin beat Bob Backlund within 8 Seconds at Madison Square Garden to become champion. Click the video below to see Diesel's title win,
Diesel's was WWF Champions Until he lost Bret Hart at Survivor Series 1995. This match was a great match and a match that Kevin Nash has said in interview's was one of his favourite matches in his career
Diesel then started to face The Undertaker and I always remember this feud because Undertaker interfered in a Match with Diesel in, Then following this Diesel Interfered in a Match the Undertaker was in. This built up to a great feud between Diesel and Undertaker and I remember a ring segment when I was a kid when there was a casket at ringside and Diesel went to open the casket and there was a body in the casket and the face looked exactly the same as Diesel's!!! (Remember thinking that was the coolest thing!!!!) Diesel and Undertaker had a match a WrestleMania 12 in a match that Diesel lost.
Watch the Video below For the Wrestlmania Match Diesel vs Undertaker
Following the Wrestlemania Match With Undertaker Diesel Then went on a face Shawn Michaels at In Your House Good Friends, Better Enemies. In the match Shawn and Diesel used weapons and if my memory serves me correctly i think they even used Mad Dog Vachon Prosthetic Leg! It was another great match and although I didn't know it at the time It would be Kevin Nash last PPV match on WWE for some years. In the video below Shawn Michaels and Diesel Give Special Commentary (from a dvd extra on this match!!!)
Following this there was an incident which I did not know about at the time (only being 10 Years Old in 1996!! But later came to light and became to be know as the Curtain Call. This was where Kevin Nash, HHH, Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels,  all hugged in the ring after the main event at Madison Square Garden.  Kevin Nash Left WWE in 1996 and Went to WCW along with Scott hall and they went on the revolutionise Wrestling and usher in a Golden age of Wrestling
Below is a Video Not of the MSG Incident But of the Cliq Re-uniting for Shawn Michaels at WWE Hall Of Fame 2011 so great to see the group back together (very sad that Scott Hall Could Not be there).
In December 2013 Kevin Nash was inducted into the Pro Wrestling Report Hall of Fame and Given a LifetimeAchievement award At Great Lakes Championship Wrestling 8th Annunal BlizzardBrawl event You can see Kevin recieving his award by clicking the video below
